Acute coronary syndromes and the influence of nutritional education
Křupková, Petra ; Tůmová, Eva (advisor) ; Altschmiedová, Tereza (referee)
Patients who have suffered an acute myocardial infarction need a comprehensive team of doctors and health professionals in whose care they are in the follow-up. Many times, however, a nutritionist may be missing from this team. It is very important for patients to take small and effective steps to change their lifestyle and dietary choices after they leave the hospital. Nutrition plays a major role in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease and is one of the non-negligible preventive factors for recurrence of acute myocardial infarction. The thesis focuses on the issue of dietary change after AIM with a three-month interval. It compares the choice of certain foods in a nutritionally educated group that also received educational papers and a control group that did not receive education and did not receive papers. The first conversation with patients took place at the hospital bedside. Respondents signed an informed consent form, were anthropometrically measured, asked several questions about diet and lifestyle, and were instructed on what they needed for a follow-up interview in three months. Laboratory values were taken from each patient's discharge report. Every other patient was educated and received education papers. Group B patients received only a paper with their name, phone...
Nursing Process for a Patient with Post-resuscitation Therapeutic Hypothermia after Acute Myocardial Infarction
Viktora, Jan ; Vytejčková, Renata (advisor) ; Petrák, Ondřej (referee)
The bachelor's thesis deals with acute cardiology, namely with casuistry of a patient after acute myocardial infarction with successful cardiopulmonary resuscitation in the field, artificial pulmonary ventilation and therapeutic hypothermia. The thesis wants to present the highly specialised and demanding nursing care of resuscitated patients from the nurse's point of view with the use of the most modern procedures and technology. The theoretical part of the thesis is divided to several chapters describing anatomy and physiology of the cardiac muscle, acute myocardial infarction, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and therapeutic hypothermia. The main focus of this part of the thesis is on the diagnosis of the acute coronary syndrom itself. The theoretical part describes in more detail therapeutic hypothermia and nursing care of patients after cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Very important chapter is also introduction of a patient on whom is concentrated the nursing care in the practical part of the thesis, and presentation of his hospitalization. The practical part deals with creating, planning and implementation of the nursing care by means of biomedical model and nursing process. The practical and theoretical part alike is divided to several chapters. The main one is focused on nursing anamnesis with...
Physiotherapy in Patients after Acute Myocardial Infarction and Aspects Influencing their Convalescence
Zídková, Veronika ; Kurfürstová, Martina (advisor) ; Novotná, Marie (referee)
BAKALÁŘSKÉ PRÁCE Title: Physiotherapy in Patients after Acute Myocardial Infarction and Aspects Influencing their Convalescence Abstract: This bachelor's thesis deals with physiotherapy and the application principles of secondary prevention in the hospital phase of rehabilitation in patients after acute myocardial infarction. The aim of this thesis is to describe the physiotherapeutical management in the hospital phase and the ways in which a physiotherapist can influence a lifestyle change of the patient. The design of this work is theoretical-practical. In the theoretical section, facts about the anatomy of the heart and myocardial infarction are summarised. The main chapters are devoted to the physiotherapeutical management in the hospital phase and to the aspects of secondary prevention which deal with risk factors of ischaemic heart disease. In the practical section, the course of the physiotherapeutical management is described in two case studies, as well as preventive intervention focusing on quitting smoking, change of dietary habits, increase in physical activity and the screening for depression and other psychosocial risk factors in two patients after acute myocardial infarction during their hospital stay in the General Teaching Hospital in Prague. Key words: acute myocardial infarction,...
Nursing Care in Patient with Acute Myocardial Infarction
Němec, Pavel ; Sojková, Monika (advisor) ; Burišková, Klára (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to identify the characteristics of prehospital and hospital care of patients with acute myocardial infarction. The theoretical part of the thesis summerizes clinical symptoms, diagnostical procedures and treatment of such patients. There is mentioned the importance of preventive steps, also. The differences in prehospital and hospital nursing care of acutelly ill patient are examined in detail. The practical part of the thesis uses data of Pilsen Region Rescue Service and analyzes the incidence of acute myocardial infarction in this area. Furthermore, two case studies discuss the appropriateness of nursing care. Key words: acute myocardial infarction, interventional treatment, nursing care, nursing diagnose, interventional treatment, patient
Assessment of dietary and regimen knowledge in patients with acute coronary syndrome
Eliášová, Marie ; Vrablík, Michal (advisor) ; Šatný, Martin (referee)
Introduction: Acute coronary syndromes (ACS) belong to cardiovascular diseases and contribute significantly to mortality, morbidity and disability in developed countries. Therefore the aim of current therapy is to reduce the risk of subsequent complications, including early death, and to increase patients' quality of life. For successful therapy it is necessary to follow regimen and dietary principles which are along with pharmacotherapy an integral part of treatment. Therefore sufficient knowledge of these principles by patients is a basic precondition for their successful treatment. Objectives: The aim of the diploma thesis was to assess dietary and regime knowledge in patients diagnosed with ACS. The specific objectives were: to determine an effect of sex or previous education on the knowledge; to describe patients' dietary habits; to specify their knowledge of nutrition; and to identify which knowledge is the most deficient. Methods: The research was carried out as a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire was compiled directly for the purposes of this thesis and was approved by the VFN Ethics Committee for use in inpatient wards at II. and III. internal clinics and at the Coronary unit of II. internal clinics of VFN. A total of 80 patients diagnosed with ACS were included in the study....

MUDr. A. Linhart, DrSc., doc. MUDr. D. Karetová, CSc. Praha 2017 Abstract Coronary heart disease is the leading cause of death in adults in the western world. Myocardial infarction can represent the lethal manifestation of coronary heart disease leading to sudden cardiac death. Although myocardial infarction mainly occurs in patients older than 45 years, the young population can be affected as well. Despite the relatively low incidence of myocardial infarction in the young population, the mortality rates and long-term disability make acute myocardial infarction in young patients an important clinical issue. Consequences of myocardial infraction usually have great impact on the young patient's psychology, ability to work and the overall quality of life. The management of young myocardial infarction patients should differ at least slightly from the older ones. Young patients usually have a different risk factor profile, clinical presentation, and prognosis in comparison with...
Nursing Care in Patient with Acute Myocardial Infarction
Němec, Pavel ; Hošťálková, Monika (advisor) ; Kukol, Václav (referee)
This thesis deals with the issue of acute myocardial infarction in context of prehospital, and hospital care. Specific clinical symptoms, diagnostic procedures, and treatment of acute myocardial infarction are described in the theoretical part. The part is also devoted to nursing care. Emphasis is put especially on prevention of cardiovascular diseases development. The goal is to evaluate nursing care of patients with acute myocardial infarction in prehospital, and later on, hospital care. The empirical part is divided into two sections. First contains a quantitative research, based on 2012 - 2014 statistics of Emergency Medical Service of the Pilsen Region. This statistics deals with myocardial acute infarction rate at prehospital care patients. The second section contains a qualitative research. Two case studies with different progress of patients suffering with acute myocardial infarction are studied. The result of this thesis is a description of nursing care in prehospital and hospital care of patients with acute myocardial infarction. Separate results of the thesis are summarized and compared in a discussion in the closing part of the thesis. Key words: acute myocardial infarction, interventional treatment, nursing care, nursing diagnose, interventional treatment, patient.
